Character Creation
Define Flaws and Goals: To foster rich roleplay, select at least one Flaw from the Flaws table (e.g., impulsive, cursed, haunted by visions, or bound by an oath) and a personal goal (such as redeeming a lost loved one or seeking the Sacred Totem). These shape your actions and provide story hooks for you.
Choose a Faction: Select your path from among the core factions; The Devoted, Wildborn, Techno-Priests or Remnants. Each faction comes with its own philosophies, traditions, and unique rolepaly. Consider how your choice colors your character’s worldview and their place in the fractured world.
Define Your Background: Craft a backstory that illuminates your character’s origins, formative experiences, and the beliefs that drive them. Think about family, mentors, traumatic events, or spiritual revelations that shaped their values and goals. How did they come to join their faction? What secrets or burdens do they carry?
Assign Attributes: You start with 12 skill points which you can distribute amongst the Mutation Skill Tree and the Technical Skills Tree. These skills affect your character’s abilities and what they can do in game.
Select Mutations or Technical Skills: You can select any number of Mutations or Technical Skills and they do stack; however do note that exceeding 12 mutations leads to death as you turn into a Mutated no longer sentient horror and in effect your character can no longer be played. Over time there may be new skills released specific to your faction depending on how your Faction interacts with the World.
